Matcha Panna Cotta
An elegant Italian-Japanese fusion dessert. This silky, melt-in-your-mouth Matcha Panna Cotta balances the rich creaminess of a traditional panna cotta with the earthy, slightly bitter notes of premium Japanese green tea. Quick to prepare and stunning to serve.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Whole milk
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 1.5 tbsp Premium matcha powder
- 1 packet Unflavored gelatin powder
- 2 tbsp Cold water
Instructions
- Preparation: Sprinkle the gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let it bloom for 5 minutes. Sift the matcha powder into another bowl to remove any lumps.
- Mix the Matcha: Add 2 tablespoons of warm water to the sifted matcha and whisk vigorously until a smooth, thick paste forms.
- Heat the Cream: In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is steaming (do not boil).
- Combine: Remove from heat. Whisk in the matcha paste until fully incorporated. Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely melted.
- Chill and Serve: Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into serving glasses or ramekins. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until perfectly set. Serve chilled.
