Ingredients
- 1 pack Myojo Tonkotsu Ramen
- 1 Soft-boiled egg (Ajitama)
- 2 slices Chashu (Japanese braised pork belly)
- 1 tbsp Chopped green onions (Scallions)
- Optional: Wood ear mushrooms (Kikurage), Nori seaweed, or Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prep the Toppings: Chop your green onions finely. If you are using pork belly or bacon, pan-fry them quickly in a small skillet until golden brown.
- Boil the Water (The right amount is key!): Bring exactly 500ml (about 2 cups + 2 tbsp) of water to a rolling boil in a pot. Precise water measurement is the secret to the perfect soup thickness!
- Cook the Noodles: Add the Myojo ramen noodles to the boiling water. Cook for exactly 3 minutes. Stir gently to untangle the noodles.
- Create the UMAMI Broth: Turn off the heat. This is crucial—do not boil the soup powder! Add the Tonkotsu soup packet into the pot and stir well until the broth becomes beautifully milky and rich.
- Assemble and Serve: Transfer the noodles and broth into a warm, deep bowl. Beautifully arrange your pork, soft-boiled egg, and green onions on top. Serve immediately while piping hot. Itadakimasu!
Notes
💡 Omotenashi Tip: Can’t find Chashu at your local grocery store? No problem!
You can easily substitute it with thick-cut bacon pan-fried until crispy, or simple thinly sliced pork pan-seared with a little soy sauce and sugar. The rich ramen broth will tie all the flavors together beautifully.
