Classic Yakisoba

Sizzling stir-fried noodles tossed with crisp vegetables, pork belly, and a deeply aromatic, sweet-and-savory Worcester-based sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 packs Yakisoba noodles mushi-chukamenn150g Pork belly
  • sliced into bite-sized piecesn2 cups Cabbage
  • chopped into squaresn1/2 Onion
  • slicedn1/2 Carrot
  • juliennedn4 tbsp Yakisoba saucen1 tbsp Cooking oilnOptional: Aonori seaweed powder
  • Benishoga pickled ginger

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prep your vegetables and slice the pork belly.
  • Open the noodle packages and microwave them for 30 seconds to loosen them up easily.nStep 2: Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the pork belly slices and sear until they start to crisp.nStep 3: Add the onion, carrot, and cabbage to the pan.
  • Stir-fry vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are cooked but still crisp.nStep 4: Add the loosened noodles directly on top of the stir-fry.
  • Drizzle 2 tbsp of water over the noodles to steam them, then stir everything together thoroughly.nStep 5: Pour the Yakisoba sauce evenly over the entire pan.
  • Toss continuously over high heat for 1-2 minutes until the sauce caramelizes slightly on the noodles.
  • Serve garnished with aonori and red ginger.

Notes

"💡 Omotenashi Tip: Microwaving the yakisoba noodles briefly before frying keeps them intact and stops them from breaking into small pieces in the wok!"
